Tottenham to cash in for enormous defender within few days as player agree

Tottenham Hotspur are now expected to ramp up their move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo with a bid this week.

Tosin Adarabioyo remains a key Tottenham Hotspur target and a bid could be submitted this week.

That is according to a report from Football London, who claim that Tottenham are now expected to launch an Adarabioyo bid in the coming days.

It’s stated that Tottenham have a ‘strong interest’ in signing Adarabioyo and will formalise that interest this week.

Spurs are keen to ideally add two centre backs this summer but they have struggled to land key targets.

Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven have been eyed up but rumours over their potential arrivals have gone completely quiet.

Tottenham may now focus on Adarabioyo, who is into the final year of his Fulham contract and looks likely to be sold.

One potential problem is that Monaco have also been chasing Adarabioyo this summer.

They view Adarabioyo as a replacement for Axel Disasi, who is on the verge of signing for Chelsea.

Foot Mercato even reported last week that Tottenham had made an offer to Adarabioyo but he preferred a move to Monaco.

That means Spurs will have to pull out all the stops to land Adarabioyo with the Premier League kick off drawing closer.

Tosin Adarabioyo makes sense for Tottenham Hotspur

We can understand if Tottenham fans maybe aren’t totally excited about a deal for Adarabioyo.

The 25-year-old has been solid if unspectacular for Fulham and certainly doesn’t bring the star power of Tapsoba or Van de Ven.

However, Adarabioyo ticks a number of boxes for Tottenham, including his Premier League experience.

Adarabioyo is a huge presence at 6ft 5in tall and brings something completely different to Tottenham’s current defenders.

Adarabioyo is also a homegrown player and his pace would be welcome to the Spurs back line.

Add in that Ange Postecoglou – formerly of the City Football Group – may well be aware of former Manchester City talent Adarabioyo and we can see the thinking.

Spurs should be able to afford a deal with Fulham but the task will be to convince Adarabioyo to snub Monaco this summer.
