Player now jets into the UK as Leeds reach agreement for new transfer

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri has jetted into the United Kingdom with Leeds United keen on signing him, according to Bild.

The German media outlet reported on its website on Monday (28 August) that the 26-year-old’s side are not training and he’s used this as an opportunity to fly to Leeds, with a transfer very much on the cards.

Kicker have reported that a £5.15million agreement has been reached with Leverkusen over securing the Germany international’s services.

Things progressing

The Whites are progressing with their pursuit of Amiri and the fact that he’s visited the club on Monday, shows he’s knee on moving.

Daniel Farke could very well be having talks with the German over him signing ahead of the transfer deadline.

Given the number of u-turns he’s made, surely there will be a lot of things he’ll have had on his mind over the past week or so.

If Farke can give him the assurances he wants and sell the project successfully to him, this move could be completed in no time by the Whites.

It remains to be seen if personal terms can then be agreed and it should be a formality if the player gives his green signal to move to Elland Road.

He would certainly be an upgrade on the options they’ve currently got in the middle of the park and will give them a better chance of sealing promotion.
