Nottingham Forest dealt with huge transfer blow as Man Utd hit heavy with injury

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as transfer target Dean Henderson could be rushed back into the Manchester United squad

Nottingham Forest transfer target Dean Henderson could be rushed back into the Manchester United squad.

The Reds are hoping to clinch a deal for goalkeeper Henderson before the transfer window closes after he enjoyed a successful loan at the City Ground from Old Trafford last season.

But they may be forced to wait until the very end of the transfer window because an injury situation at United could lead to manager Erik ten Hag needing Henderson in his squad in the opening weeks of the new season.

The Red Devils have been dealt an injury blow in their goalkeeping department, with Tom Heaton likely to be sidelined for the rest of this month with a calf strain.

It means Henderson may have to deputise for United’s new No.1 Andre Onana.

Forest have already signed one new goalkeeper this summer, with Matt Turner arriving from Arsenal this week ahead of their opening match of the new Premier League season against the Gunners at the Emirates.
