Newcastle to outbid EPL club to sign Chelsea player after deal on ‘stand-by’

It looks like there is a bit of a battle brewing for clubs to sign one Chelsea player in the remaining weeks of this summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea have had a great window so far but they are looking to finish strong with a number of new signings arriving as well as more outgoings being worked on.

As well as selling players, they will also be looking to loan a few more out, with midfielder Lewis Hall being one of those.

As confirmed again by Fabrizio Romano in his below post, Hall has recently signed a new long-term contract extension at Chelsea, so the club will only be looking to loan him out this window rather than sell him on a permanent deal.

It looked like he will be going to Crystal Palace last week, but Romano says that deal is currently on ‘stand-by’.

So it looks like Newcastle are now trying to pip Palace to the signing of Hall!
