‘Driving you mad’: Pundit names Everton player who really frustrate Sean Dyche

Jamie Redknapp has named Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the Everton player that can ‘drive you mad’.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the former midfielder admitted that Calvert-Lewin’s injury record must be frustrating when the club are in desperate need of goals.

Calvert-Lewin has spent a large chunk of the past couple of years on the sidelines and returned to the starting line-up for Everton for the first time since he was forced off against Wolves in May.

The striker took the place of Neal Maupay at Villa Park as he looked to reignite his career, however a collision with Emiliano Martinez resulted in an early substitution for the England international.

A potential cheekbone fracture could leave Calvert-Lewin on the treatment table once again, adding to his tally of over 200 days out of action in the last two years.

Redknapp was keen to admit to Calvert-Lewin’s goalscoring ability, but claimed it must drive the coaching team mad that he is rarely available to them.

“When you’ve got a player like Calvert-Lewin, you’re always hoping he stays fit and can have a run in the team because if he can then he does bring you goals,” Redknapp said.

“He’s a complete centre forward, but how do you get him fit? I’m sure its driving you mad trying to get him fit on the pitch every week.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin adds to Everton’s injury woes

Dominic Calvert-Lewin seems to be a constant on Everton’s injury list and he now looks set to return to it for another period on the sidelines.

While fans will be most concerned by the forward’s absence, the Toffees luck didn’t improve at Villa Park, with Alex Iwobi also forced off with a suspected hamstring injury.
