Deal all but done: Leeds player move is now very close – O’Rourke

Chelsea are very close to agreeing a deal for Leeds United star Tyler Adams, sources have told Football Insider.

Adams, 24, has told United boss Daniel Farke he wants to leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

The USA international is among a number of Leeds stars who have release clauses that could see clubs buy them for a fixed amount.

It is reported that his clause is around the £20million mark.

Adams has always been keen to return to the Premier League rather than spend a season in the Championship.

Adams has missed to start of the EFL season but is believed to have returned to light training and is hopeful of being available to play by the end of August.

His current contract at Elland Road runs until 2027 after joining from RB Leipzig last summer in a £20million deal.

The American made 26 appearances for the Whites across all competitions last season before picking up a hamstring injury the sidelined him for the majority of the final two months of the 2022-23 campaign.
