Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka issues four-word reaction to Aston Villa

Carney Chukwuemeka has wished Tyrone Mings a ‘speedy recovery’ on Instagram after the Aston Villa centre-back suffered a ‘serious’ knee injury.

The Chelsea midfielder played with Tyrone Mings for a brief period during his time at Aston Villa before his transfer to Stamford Bridge last summer.

In the first half of Villa’s 5-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday, Mings suffered an awkward fall whilst running for the ball alongside Alexander Isak.

At the time, it looked like very bad news for the 30-year-old, and whilst it wasn’t news fans wanted to hear, the club confirmed on Monday that he is now going to be out of action for a ‘lengthy’ period – the player himself sent a message to both Villa and Newcastle fans yesterday.

This is a bitter blow to the player, especially with Villa in Europe and Euro 2024 around the corner, and to Unai Emery because he was a key member of the team.

Nonetheless, Mings posted on Instagram that ‘I have come back before and I will come back again’ following his injury, with a number of players posting messages in the comments section.View Instagram Post

Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka wrote: “Speedy recovery, big bro.”, whilst Alex Moreno added, “You will come back stronger, my friend,” and Anwar El Ghazi told him: “Stay strong, brother.”

A week to forget for Aston Villa

Losing Emi Buendia to a long-term injury, getting thumped on the opening day and now losing Mings. This is a week to forget for the club.

It’s best they dust everything off, boot it out and forget about it because it can’t and won’t get worse than this.
