Alan Shearer says what everyone is thinking about Nottingham Forest man after Chelsea win

The latest Nottingham Forest news as the pundit hailed Joe Worrall and also named Willy Boly in his team of the week following the 1-0 victory over Chelsea.

Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer has named two Nottingham Forest defenders in his team of the week, following the 1-0 win over Chelsea.

Forest came out as unexpected winners at Stamford Bridge, thanks to Anthony Elanga’s second half goal. The game saw Forest pick up their first clean sheet of the season, despite the attacking talent on show for Chelsea.

After two summers of big spending, The blues were able to field the likes of Raheem Sterling, Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson. Players such as Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and new signing Cole Palmer all came off the bench to try and find a goal, but Forest were able to keep them at bay.

The win moves Steve Cooper ’s men up to ninth place in the early Premier League table, having recorded two wins and two losses in their opening four league games. Forest are next in action after the international break when they take on Burnley at the City Ground on Monday, 18 September.

Following the game at Stamford Bridge, Shearer has named Forest defensive duo Joe Worrall and Willy Boly in his team of the week. Writing on the Premier League’s official website , the pundit said of Worrall: “Magnificent at the back in really tough circumstances.”

The former striker also praised Boly’s performance: “Used his experience to frustrate Chelsea,” he said. “Marshalled his team really well.”
